Law360, New York (June 14, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Less than two years after being slapped with securities fraud charges, Adelphia Communications Corp. founder John Rigas and his son Timothy are seeking absolution, this week asking a federal appeals court to overturn their convictions for their roles in the massive accounting fraud scandal that felled the telecommunications giant.
The disgraced founder Rigas and his son, Adelphia's former chief financial officer, are both free on bail pending the outcome of their appeals following last year’s sentencing.
