Gov. Opposes Skilling's Bid For Frozen Funds

Law360, New York (June 14, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The director of the U.S. Attorney’s Enron Task Force filed opposition papers Tuesday to a motion by disgraced Enron executive Jeffrey Skilling. This motion sought the release of most of the $60 million in assets Skilling had frozen by the government.

Enron Task Force Director Sean Berkowitz argued that Skilling’s attorney was confusing the government’s basis for imposing pretrial restraint on his assets with the government’s basis for obtaining forfeiture of the proceeds from Skilling’s offenses.
