Google, Yahoo, AOL Lose Bid To Toss Polaris IP Suit

Law360 (September 24, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal judge has kept alive an infringement suit against Google Inc., Yahoo Inc. and AOL LLC over patents for electronic message interpretation systems, rejecting arguments that the plaintiffs' pleadings are deficient under Bell Atlantic Corp. v. Twombly.

In a ruling issued Tuesday, Judge Charles Everingham of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas rejected the Web giants' contention that the complaint from Polaris IP LLC should be dismissed or clarified based on pleading standards the U.S. Supreme Court used in Bell Atlantic....
