Airbus Poised To Request State Aid

Law360, New York (June 19, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Aircraft manufacturer Airbus may soon ask for state aid in order to complete its A380 plane on time, a request that would add fuel to the already intense debate between the United States and the European Union over subsidies given to Airbus and rival Boeing Corp.

Airbus is set to request the government support despite warnings from the U.S. that any aid given to the company would add to the dispute currently playing out before the World Trade Organization, according to the New York Times....
