Northwest Asks For Six-Month Extension Of Ch. 11 Plan

Law360 (June 20, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Northwest Airlines Corp. has requested that a bankruptcy court grant a six-month extension to file its reorganization plan as it attempts to hammer out a deal with its flight attendants and find debtor-in-possession financing to keep its operations afloat.

The airline asked the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in the Southern District of New York to prolong its exclusive period to file a Chapter 11 plan through Jan. 15, 2007 because it still needs to take care of “substantial tasks that lie ahead.” The company is currently approaching...
