Intel Seeks Judgment On 18 Wi-LAN Patents

Law360, New York (October 1, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Intel Corp. has filed suit against publicly traded Canadian licensing company Wi-LAN Inc., seeking a declaratory judgment that it has not infringed 18 Wi-LAN patents for wireless technology and seeking to have the patents declared invalid.

Intel filed the suit Tuesday in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California. Intel and Wi-LAN are also battling over three different wireless patents in a separate case in Texas.
