SGI Creditors Endorse Move To California Court

Law360, New York (June 21, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Computer maker Silicon Graphics Inc. garnered the support of its unsecured creditors on Monday in its attempt to move its Chapter 11 case from New York City to Northern California, where the company is headquartered.

In court papers filed with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Manhattan, the official committee of unsecured creditors argued that because SGI’s “main operations, employees, assets, business records and management” are located in Mountain View, Calif.,” according to the Federal Rules of Bankruptcy Procedure, the court must dismiss or transfer a case...
