Tesoro Sues Calif. Regulators Over Ethanol Gas Rule

Law360 (October 1, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A Texas oil refining company has filed suit against the California Air Resources Board, seeking to block enforcement of new regulations requiring increased ethanol content in gasoline sold in the state beginning in 2010.

Tesoro Refining and Marketing Co., which has refineries in Los Angeles and Martinez, Calif., filed the suit Monday in state court in California, arguing the regulations would increase costs for refiners and consumers, in addition to having a negative impact on the environment.
