Court Nixes Class Bid By Halliburton Shareholders

Law360, New York (October 1, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal judge in Texas has shot down a pension fund's bid for class status in a securities fraud case against energy company Halliburton Co.

Judge Barbara Lynn, of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas, issued her long-awaited order Monday, saying a memorandum explaining her decision in detail would follow on or before Nov. 3.
