Broadcast Flags Cause Waves Of Debate

Law360 (June 21, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The sponsor of a bill that would allow broadcast flags, a divisive technology that the entertainment industry believes will help stop piracy, has cooled to the idea of using it in the recording industry.

Sen. Ted Stevens (R-Alaska) has revised his draft of the Communications, Consumers’ Choice, and Broadband Deployment Act of 2006 to only allow broadcast flags to protect copyright video content.
