Ex-Jenkens Head Rips $7B Tax Scam Conviction In 2nd Circ.

Law360, New York (October 22, 2015, 1:43 PM EDT) -- Jailed former Jenkens & Gilchrist PC lawyer Paul Daugerdas urged the Second Circuit on Thursday to overturn his conviction for allegedly orchestrating a $7 billion tax fraud scheme, accusing prosecutors of overhauling their legal theory at the end of the trial.

During a hearing in Manhattan court, an attorney for Daugerdas told a three-judge panel that Daugerdas had been denied a fair trial before being convicted and sentenced to 15 years in prison for what prosecutors called the largest tax scam in U.S. history.
