Court Docs Unveil More Bad News For Guidant

Law360 (June 23, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Facing a mounting slew of lawsuits over its implantable heart devices, Guidant Corp. has suffered yet another blow, after a federal judge unsealed a document revealing that a potentially life-threatening malfunction with the company’s defibrillators may be even more common than previously indicated.

The document, a U.S. Food and Drug Administration analysis dated June 16, 2005, was unsealed earlier this month by the Texas judge overseeing a product-liability lawsuit.
