Ford Nabs PTAB Review Of Paice's Hybrid Car Patent

Law360, San Diego (October 30, 2015, 10:46 PM EDT) -- The Patent Trial and Appeal Board granted on Thursday Ford's request for an inter partes review of a hybrid vehicle patent owned by Paice, weeks after a Maryland federal jury found that two other automakers infringed Paice's hybrid technology.

A three-judge panel agreed with Ford Motor Co. to institute an IPR of Paice LLC and The Abell Foundation Inc.'s U.S. Patent Number 7,237,634, finding that the company has a good chance of showing that the challenged claims are obvious.
