Yahoo Gets Shareholder Class Action Thrown Out

Law360, New York (October 9, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal judge has tossed a class action brought by Yahoo Inc. shareholders alleging the Internet giant and top executives misled them about the company's acquisition of Overture Services Inc. and about its plans for a new search engine.

In her order Tuesday, Judge Claudia Wilken of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California granted Yahoo's motion to dismiss the consolidated suit, but gave the shareholders until Nov. 17 to fill the holes in their case and file another complaint.
