Antonelli Insurer Says It Owes Only $5M In Malpractice Suit

Law360, New York (November 10, 2015, 6:17 PM EST) -- A malpractice insurance provider on Monday asked a Virginia federal court to declare that it is only responsible for $5 million of the $8 million judgment awarded to an ex-client of Antonelli Terry Stout & Kraus LLP over an allegedly botched patent application.

Minnesota Lawyers Mutual Insurance Co. said that its policy with Antonelli clearly states a $5 million liability limit for claims "arising out of any act, error or omission" of an insured, but Antonelli's former client in the malpractice case, Protostorm LLC, said in an early October request with a New York district court to enforce the judgment in...
