Google, Yahoo Seek DOJ Settlement Over Ad Pact

Law360, New York (October 14, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Internet giants Google Inc. and Yahoo Inc. are reportedly in discussions with the U.S. Department of Justice to fend off an antitrust challenge to the pair's planned advertising partnership.

The companies declined to comment on the details of their discussions with the DOJ, but the pair are said to be negotiating a settlement with the competition regulator, according to a report Tuesday in the Wall Street Journal, which cited unnamed lawyers familiar with the deal.
