Texas Landowners Sue BLM Over Land Seizure On Red River

By Alex Wolf (November 17, 2015, 5:03 PM EST) -- The Bureau of Land Management on Monday was hit with a federal suit in Texas by seven landowners, three county governments and one county sheriff claiming that the federal government has unlawfully seized thousands of acres of private property along the Red River.

The suit alleges that the BLM has violated the constitutional rights of Texas landowners with property along the river by asserting that federal land boundaries extend well past the riverbed into Texas and, in some instances, more than a mile outside of actual federal territory.
