Ex-Enron Broadband CEO Cops $8.7M Plea

Law360, New York (October 15, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A former executive at Enron Corp.'s failed broadband unit has pled guilty to wire fraud and agreed to pay $8.7 million in restitution for allegedly signing off on misleading statements about the company's broadband operating system.

Joseph Hirko, 52, of Portland, Ore., entered the plea in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas on Tuesday, about seven months after an appeals court denied his bid to toss the government's indictment.
