Boeing To Pay Record $615M To Quell DOJ Probe

Law360, New York (June 30, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The Boeing Company will pay $615 million to settle U.S. Department of Justice probes into allegations that Boeing illegally obtained and used competitors' information to win contracts worth billions of dollars from NASA and the Air Force.

$565 million of that total is a civil settlement, and $50 million will go to settle a criminal probe.

As a result of the $50 million payment and Boeing’s cooperation with authorities, the DOJ has conditionally agreed not to file criminal charges against Boeing.
