$65B Charter-TWC Deal Will Expand Mobile Choices, FCC Told

By Patrick Boyle (December 7, 2015, 7:07 PM EST) -- Charter Communications Inc. defended its $65.4 billion merger with Time Warner Cable Inc. and Bright House Networks LLC, telling the Federal Communications Commission on Friday that the proposed deal will let Charter jump into the mobile communications market and boost competition.

The tie-up will also enable the companies to expand their services to businesses with multiple locations and accelerate the transition to all-digital services for Time Warner and Bright House customers, Charter said in a filing Friday with the FCC on Friday.
