Northwest Flight Attendants Vote To Switch Unions

Law360, New York (July 7, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Northwest Airlines Corp. flight attendants booted their independent union and jumped on board the Association of Flight Attendants on Thursday, but the new union’s last-ditch effort to help negotiate a new contract with the bankrupt carrier may come too late.

The Thursday vote comes a week after Judge Allan L. Gropper of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York allowed Northwest to throw out its labor contract with approximately 9,300 flight attendants.
