TrueCar Must Face Some Claims In $250M False Ad Suit

By Dani Meyer (January 8, 2016, 5:58 PM EST) -- A New York federal judge has trimmed some claims from a suit brought by 162 auto dealerships accusing online car buying site TrueCar Inc. of misleading customers about the process of purchasing a car, but said he can't yet determine if a disclaimer negates one of the main allegations.

TrueCar had argued that a disclaimer on its website belies the dealerships' allegations that the site's "no haggle" claims promising a negotiation-free buying experience are false, but U.S. District Judge P. Kevin Castel in a Wednesday order that he can't decide whether or not consumers were misled at the motion to dismiss...
