New Charges Eyed In Press-Release Hack, Insider Trading Plot

By Pete Brush (January 8, 2016, 3:19 PM EST) -- Prosecutors told a Brooklyn federal judge Friday that they are likely to bring additional charges against noted Pennsylvania pastor Vitaly Korchevsky and others accused in a $30 million plot to profit from stock trades based on information stolen by computer hackers from distributors of corporate news releases.

With some 30 members of Korchevsky's Pennsylvania Baptist ministry again looking on, prosecutor Christopher L. Nasson told U.S. District Judge Raymond J. Dearie that a superseding indictment was likely in coming months. Judge Dearie set a March conference and hinted he might give the government a deadline for a fresh indictment.
