Airlines Weighed Down By Class Action Suits

Law360, New York (July 11, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The flood of class action lawsuits against British Airways and Virgin Atlantic shows no sign of waning, with two more individuals suing the airlines Monday for illegally boosting passenger ticket prices through fuel surcharges.

There are now at least 10 similar lawsuits against British Airways, Virgin Atlantic and, in some cases, American Airlines and United Airlines in the U.S. District Court in Brooklyn alone. Similar lawsuits are pending in courts in Boston, Philadelphia, Los Angeles and elsewhere.
