Calif. Lawmaker Pulls Bill Limiting Uber, Lyft Data-Sharing

Law360, New York (January 12, 2016, 10:47 PM EST) -- A California lawmaker on Monday withdrew proposed legislation that would have put limits on the data that ride-sharing services such as Uber and Lyft are allowed to share with third parties, although the door was left open for the proposal to make a comeback.

Assembly Bill 886, the Passenger Charter-Party Carriers’ Act, was pulled from consideration by Assemblymember Ed Chau, D-Monterey Park, on the same day that it was slated to come before the Assembly Utilities and Commerce Committee for a vote.
