Pressure Builds On DOJ Over Google-Yahoo Deal

Law360, New York (October 29, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Saying Yahoo Inc. has tried to obscure facts on the deal rather than clarify them, a leading Republican lawmaker has asked the U.S. Department of Justice to take a close look at the potential antitrust issues of a proposed advertising partnership between Yahoo and Google Inc.

Rep. Joe Barton, R-Texas, the ranking minority member on the U.S. House of Representatives Energy and Commerce Committee, said Tuesday in a letter to the DOJ that Yahoo has resisted congressional inquiries.
