Google, Yahoo Deal May Break Down This Week

Law360 (November 3, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- Google Inc. and Yahoo Inc. may reportedly abandon their proposed online advertising partnership this week over concerns that they will face a protracted antitrust battle.

The Internet giants are currently negotiating a settlement with the U.S. Department of Justice, but thus far the sides have been unable to reach a compromise, according to the Wall Street Journal.

The Journal, citing people familiar with the matter, reported that Yahoo and Google met with the DOJ on Thursday, and that they will either back away from the partnership...
