By Matthew Bultman (February 2, 2016, 5:22 PM EST) -- Asset and fleet tracking company SkyBitz Inc. sidestepped a patent suit Tuesday brought by the inventor of a remote tracking system, marking the latest such case to be tossed after a Texas federal judge found two of the patent's claims invalid.
In a joint motion Tuesday, inventor Joseph Smith and SkyBitz asked U.S. District Judge Rodney Gilstrap to dismiss the case with prejudice. In earlier court filings, the two sides had indicated they reached an agreement resolving the litigation.
