Professors, Tribes Ask 9th Circ. To Affirm Groundwater Ruling
By Hannah Sheehan (February 22, 2016, 7:48 PM EST) -- Eleven law professors, a cadre of Native American tribes and several tribal organizations asked the Ninth Circuit Thursday to uphold a California district court's ruling extending the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians' federal reserved water rights to groundwater in the Coachella Valley.
