Court Denies Lilly Depositions In Zyprexa MDL

Law360, New York (November 10, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- As discovery continues in the multidistrict litigation over Eli Lilly & Co.'s blockbuster Zyprexa, a federal magistrate judge has denied the pharmaceutical company’s request for depositions from two of Connecticut’s prominent mental health officers.

Judge Roanne L. Mann of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York refused Thursday to order depositions of Dr. Kenneth Marcus, the medical director for the state of Connecticut's Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services, and Michael Starkowski, the commissioner of Connecticut's Department of Social Services....
