Judge OKs St. Vincent’s $21.2M Hospital Sell-Off

Law360, New York (July 20, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- In a move to scale down, Saint Vincent Catholic Medical Centers of New York won bankruptcy court approval this week to auction off one of its shuttered hospitals in a $21.2 million deal.

On Tuesday, Judge Adlai Hardin Jr. of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York approved the controversial sale of Brooklyn, N.Y.-based St. Mary's Hospital to local developer Backer Group LLC.

The group was ordered back to court next week to get the green light to sell another hospital....
