NY Judge Tosses Harvey Keitel's ETrade Suit Over Ad Deal

Law360, New York (March 1, 2016, 4:11 PM EST) -- A New York judge on Tuesday threw out a lawsuit brought by actor Harvey Keitel against ETrade Financial Corp. which claimed the online stock brokerage reneged on a $1.5 million deal for the actor to star in television commercials for the company, citing the absence of a binding contract.

Following brief oral arguments, New York Supreme Court Judge Charles Ramos granted ETrade's motion to dismiss the suit, saying a term sheet exchanged between Keitel and ETrade agents says the deal isn't enforceable until a written agreement is reached.
