Trade Court Rejects Injunction Bid In Tire Duty Fight

Law360 (November 14, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- A judge with the U.S. Court for International Trade has refused to grant a temporary restraining order and preliminary injunction for two companies challenging duties imposed on off-the-road tires imported from China.

Massachusetts-based GPX International Tire Corp. and affiliate Hebei Starbright Tire Co. Ltd. asked the court for a temporary restraining order and preliminary injunction to prevent collection of full anti-dumping duty and countervailing duty deposits. GPX bought the Chinese-based Starbright plant in 2006.
