H&R Block Loses Appeal Over Insurance Coverage

Law360, New York (November 17, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- An appeals court has ruled against H&R Block Inc. in a dispute over whether two of the company's insurers were obligated to cover class actions the tax preparation giant faced over its tax refund loan program.

In a decision issued Friday, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eight Circuit agreed with a lower court that the tax preparer wasn't covered for lawsuits it faced during the period it was insured by American International Specialty Lines Insurance Co., and Lexington Insurance Co.
