Wyeth, Cordis Add Abbott To Medtronic Stent Spat

Law360 (November 19, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- Wyeth and Johnson & Johnson subsidiary Cordis Corp. have added Abbott Laboratories to their infringement suit against Medtronic Inc. over three stent patents, accusing the Illinois pharmaceutical company of supplying Medtronic with the drug used to coat its allegedly infringing Endeavor stents.

The amended complaint, filed Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey, argued that Abbott had contributed to the infringement of the Wyeth patents, to which Cordis has exclusive licenses for percutaneous transluminal procedures in humans.
