Jury Awards Core Wireless $3.5M In Patent Suit Against LG

Law360, New York (March 24, 2016, 9:43 PM EDT) -- A federal jury in Texas’ Eastern District on Thursday awarded $3.5 million to Core Wireless Licensing S.a.r.l. after finding that LG Electronics Inc. infringed two of its smartphone user-interface patents with its Android-based smartphones.

The jury determined that LG and its subsidiary LG Electronics Mobilecomm USA Inc. infringed four claims U.S. Patent Numbers 8,434,020 and 8,713,476 and that LG failed to prove by clear and convincing evidence that any of the asserted claims were invalid, handing Core Wireless $3.5 million.
