SEC General Counsel Cartwright To Resign

Law360 (November 20, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission General Counsel Brian Cartwright, a former partner at Latham & Watkins LLP, has announced that he is stepping down from his post to return to the private sector.

Cartwright joined the SEC in January 2006, leaving his post as global chairman of Latham's practice representing public companies, where he worked out of the law firm's Los Angeles office. He replaced Giovanni Prezioso in the SEC role.
