'Funny Face' Director's Infringement Suit Survives

Law360 (November 24, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- A federal judge has tossed some of the claims brought by the director of “Funny Face” against Gap Inc. and Paramount Pictures Corp. over the clothing retailer's use of Audrey Hepburn's image from the 1957 film, but declined to dismiss the case entirely.

On Thursday, U.S. District Judge Dean Pregerson of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California granted in part and denied in part Gap's Inc.'s motion to dismiss, allowing some of the claims brought by director Stanley Donen to go forward....
