Privacy Watchdog Sues For Drone Task Force Meeting Records

Law360, New York (April 5, 2016, 6:02 PM EDT) -- A privacy watchdog lobbed a suit in D.C. federal court Monday seeking to get records of a November closed-door meeting of the task force that advised the Federal Aviation Administration on its rule requiring small unmanned aircraft systems, or drones, to be registered.

Eager to get details of the task force's discussions at that closed-door meeting, the Electronic Privacy Information Center filed a Freedom of Information Act suit against the U.S. Department of Transportation in an effort to determine how the task force, which the FAA created last year, ultimately came up with its drone registration recommendations.
