Puerto Rico Court Confirms Conn. Co.'s Arbitration Award
Law360, New York (April 5, 2016, 7:30 PM EDT) -- A U.S federal judge has confirmed an arbitration award that was granted to a Connecticut engineering company in a construction contract dispute with two Puerto Rican subcontractors after finding that the subcontractors were merely splitting hairs in their arguments to vacate the award.
The subcontractors, Empresas Sabaer Inc. and BBS Developers SE, who have been ordered to pay more than $730,000 to DTC Engineers and Constructors LLC in the breach of contract dispute, had argued that the arbitrator had exceeded his powers by failing to render findings of fact and conclusions of law.
