NJ High Court Nixes Tropicana License Appeal

Law360, New York (November 25, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- The New Jersey Supreme Court has dealt a blow to Tropicana Entertainment LLC's efforts to regain control of the Tropicana Casino and Resort in Atlantic City, affirming a December 2007 decision that declined to renew the Tropicana's casino license and led to a conservator taking control of the property.

New Jersey's highest court held Nov. 20 that the New Jersey Casino Control Commission's 4-1 decision not to renew the Tropicana's license, and their conclusion that “Tropicana lacked financial integrity and responsibility, as well as business ability”...
