'Natural' Sunscreen Maker Hit With False Ad Class Action

Law360, New York (April 12, 2016, 9:14 PM EDT) -- Health and beauty products maker McNabb LLC on Tuesday was accused of misleading consumers by advertising a number of its sunscreen products as "natural" despite the fact that they contain synthetic ingredients, according to a proposed class action complaint filed in New York federal court.

Brooklyn resident Vivian Douek said Tuesday that she was tricked into paying a premium for sunscreen sold by McNabb, which does business as Sunology Natural Sun Protection, that allegedly claims on its label to contain "active ingredients derived from nature," but in fact contain synthetic ingredients such as zinc oxide and dimethicone.
