Texas Judge Threatens To Sanction Atty For Baseless Case

By Michelle Casady (April 18, 2016, 4:37 PM EDT) -- A fed-up Texas federal judge has dismissed as baseless a family's breach of contract lawsuit against insurer State Farm Lloyds and ordered the Houston attorney who filed it to return to court and explain why he shouldn't face sanctions in the matter.

In the opinion signed Thursday, U.S. District Judge Micaela Alvarez wrote that she was granting the insurer's request to lift an abatement in the case and grant its motion for summary judgment, dismissing the suit with prejudice.
