Judge OKs Tweeter Utilities Payment Plan

Law360 (December 2, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- Over the objections of several utility companies, a judge has prohibited the utilities from discontinuing service to bankrupt consumer electronics chain Tweeter Opco LLC and has allowed Tweeter to create a utility deposit account to pay for utility services.

Judge Mary Walrath of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware issued an order Monday allowing Tweeter to deposit $283,000 into a newly created interest-bearing, segregated account with the deposit held in escrow to provide the utilities with assurance of payment of utility services....
