Early Ruling Denies Bid To Stop Newspaper Deal

Law360 (July 28, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Dealing an initial blow to a San Francisco businessman’s crusade against the consolidation of the publishing industry, a federal judge gave out a preliminary ruling Thursday that rejected a bid for temporary restraining order to halt McClatchy Co. from selling three Bay Area newspapers.
