Language Group Calls Copyrighting Klingon Highly Illogical

Law360, New York (April 28, 2016, 8:36 PM EDT) -- A copyright lawsuit over a "Star Trek" fan film has caught the attention of a constructed languages group, which argued Wednesday that Paramount Pictures can’t copyright Klingon — and it did so in a brief written partially in the fictional language. 

The Language Creation Society asked a California federal judge’s permission to submit an amicus brief in Paramount and CBS Studios’ case against Axanar Productions Inc, the producers of a "Star Trek" fan fiction film called “Axanar.”
