Ferragamo Sues Ex-NFL QB Over Same-Name Winery

Law360, New York (May 4, 2016, 4:34 PM EDT) -- Salvatore Ferragamo SpA said that a former NFL quarterback’s use of the name for his winery and wine products violates its trademark, and the Italian luxury goods maker asked a New York federal judge on Wednesday to bar its use, arguing that it could confuse consumers.

Former Los Angeles Rams and Green Bay Packers quarterback Vince Ferragamo was hit with the suit by the luxury brand over his Ferragamo winery and its Ferragamo wine products, according to the complaint.
