Cases Mount Against Mentor Over Vaginal Implant

Law360, New York (December 5, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- The past is coming back to bite Mentor Corp., as the medical device maker faces a mounting number of product liability suits, recently consolidated into multidistrict litigation, over a vaginal implant device the company pulled from the market in 2006.

The lawsuits allege that Mentor defectively designed, manufactured and marketed its ObTape transobturator sling, an implant used to treat female stress urinary incontinence.
