UK Competition Tribunal Nixes BSkyB's New Appeal

Law360, New York (December 5, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- A British competition tribunal has rejected British Sky Broadcasting PLC's latest plea to overturn a decision that would force the media giant to cut its nearly 18 percent stake in a television station.

On Thursday, the Competition Appeal Tribunal unanimously rejected BskyB's appeal, reasoning that the appeal would likely fail. The Tribunal wrote that it doesn't believe an appeal “would have any real prospect of success,” nor would it broach new arguments.
