King Sues Sandoz Over Patent For Muscle Relaxant

Law360 (December 8, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- King Pharmaceuticals Inc., the exclusive licensee of the muscle relaxant Skelaxin, has sued generics maker Sandoz Inc. over Sandoz's plan to make and market a generic version of the drug.

King and patent owner Pharmaceutical IP Holdings Inc. filed suit against Sandoz on Friday in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey, claiming Sandoz infringed a patent for the muscle relaxer by filing both an abbreviated new drug application and Paragraph IV certification with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
